I write my first blog as firstpress and initially named it 'Free Running with firstpress'.
Why not Kevin Ecock? Well, I began the blog as a place to rant! To get things off my chest.To put 'stuff' out there that no-one else would publish! I thought it might be a good idea to keep my name out of it.

Ireland is just too small a place for that sort of carry on. It was pretty obvious who was behind firstpress so I renamed the blog to 'Free Running with Kevin Ecock'. Muddled enough thinking!
After I posted my 400th blog and after doing my best to put something up every week I stopped!
Why? Well, in 2015, I began to write Wine+.ie and it also needed a blog! So I set up WinePlusBlog and have shied away from writing on Free Running. Clear? As mud ..... because Wine+ is, sadly, no more.

For the past year I have also been hosting a weekly podcast titled Kevin Ecock's Winepod. Now, this is where the real action is at. I interview/chat with the very best wienakers from across the world. Each episode lasts for 30 minutes. Have a quick listen. We have everything from Chile to France, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand and on and on. We even have Mallorca!
We need more active wine blogs in Ireland! We need more opinion and above all we need more active (independent of the wine trade) critique!
